Get an API key
Create a key at your AI provider: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter or Mistral. Gemini and Groq have free tiers. Get a key in Atlis opens the right page.
- 2
Connect it
Go to Settings → Integrations → AI, choose the provider, paste the key and click Check key. Atlis lists the models your key can use; checking spends no tokens and saves nothing.
- 3
Pick a model and save
Choose a model and click Save. The key is stored encrypted on Atlis's server and never shown again; Atlis shows its last 4 characters. Change the model, use another key or Disconnect at any time.
What it does
| Feature | Where | Plans | What your AI gets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Write with AI | Write with AI in the email editor (Workflows, Recovery, Testimonials, user profiles) and in Broadcasts | Starter, Growth, Scale and the trial | Your brief, the trigger and, if you tick it, your current draft |
| Ask Atlis | The box at the top of Insights and Revenue | Growth, Scale and the trial on Insights; Scale on Revenue | The numbers on that page: counts, rates and amounts, no names or emails |
| Summaries | Summarize with AI on Recovery's exit survey answers, testimonials and loyalty comments | Starter, Growth, Scale and the trial | The answers on screen, with email addresses hidden |
Write with AI fills the subject and the email in Atlis's simple layout, with your greeting, button and sign-off, and only the email variables Atlis can fill. Nothing changes until you click Use this, and nothing sends until you do. Ask Atlis answers from Atlis's own numbers and says which day's data it used; check important figures on the page.
Privacy and cost
- Your AI provider bills you directly for what you use. Atlis adds no AI charge and pays for no AI tokens.
- Atlis sends each request with your key and keeps no answers. Your provider's own terms apply to what you send.
- Customer text (survey answers, testimonials, comments) is sent as information the AI is told not to follow, with email addresses hidden.
- Your key is encrypted on Atlis's server and is never sent to your browser. Atlis never logs it.
Good to know
- Atlis keeps your AI bill small: it suggests a lower-cost model first (marked lower cost in the list), asks for short answers, sends only the numbers or answers a feature needs, and reuses an answer when you ask the same question again on the same data.
- Up to 30 AI requests per workspace every 10 minutes.
- If your provider rejects the key, rate limits it or runs out of credits, Atlis says so in plain words. Fix it at your provider or in Settings → Integrations → AI.
- With Claude's newest models, if Claude declines a request Atlis asks it to try a fallback model in the same call.
