Atlis vs PostHog

Atlis vs PostHog

PostHog is a broad product platform: deep event analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys and a data warehouse, priced per use with generous free allowances. Atlis is narrower and does the retention work for you: it keeps every user in a lifecycle stage with a health score, turns Stripe and Paddle events into triggers, and sends ready-written emails from your own mailbox, with company accounts, an onboarding checklist and real MRR built in. PostHog facts checked on its docs and pricing page on 27 Oct 2026.

Who should choose which

The right tool depends on your team

Choose Atlis if…

  • You want onboarding, inactivity, trial and failed-payment emails running this week, with stages and health scores worked out for you.
  • You bill with Stripe or Paddle and want billing events to become triggers and real MRR without building a data model.
  • You want people grouped into companies from the company name or work email you already have, with no extra code and no add-on.
  • You want an onboarding checklist in your app; PostHog shut down its product tours on 26 Sep 2026.

Choose PostHog if…

  • You need deep product analytics: funnels, paths, retention, SQL and dashboards on every event.
  • You need session replay, feature flags, A/B experiments or error tracking.
  • You have engineers who will instrument events and build the analysis themselves.

Questions

Browse the email templates to see what Atlis sends.

Is Atlis a PostHog alternative?

Not for analytics depth: PostHog is the better tool for exploring every event. Atlis is the better fit when you want retention to run on its own: stages, health scores, billing triggers, lifecycle emails, a cancel flow, company accounts and an onboarding checklist, set up in an afternoon. Many teams use both.

Can I use Atlis and PostHog together?

Yes. Keep PostHog for analysis, and send the events you want to act on to Atlis with Atlis.track() or the Server API. Atlis turns them into stages, health scores and emails.

Does Atlis need extra code for company accounts?

No. Atlis groups people by the company ID or name you already send with identify, your CRM or a CSV import, and otherwise by their work email domain. It's included on Growth, Scale and the trial.
