Activation email template
Activation email for users who haven't started
An activation email goes to someone who signed up but hasn't reached the first moment of value yet. Send it about two days after signup, keep it short, point to one next step, and invite a reply so you learn what got in the way.

The email template
This is the starter email Atlis fills in when you add the Not Activated in 48h trigger.

When it sends in Atlis
The user is still not activated a set time after signup (2 days by default). Checked every hour.
Goal: Get a new signup to complete the one action that makes your product useful.
Tips for this email
- Name one action, not a feature tour. The fewer choices, the more people act.
- Send it while the signup is still fresh. After a week most people have forgotten why they signed up.
- Ask for a reply. The answers tell you exactly where onboarding breaks.
Send it automatically in three steps
- 1
Connect your app
Install the Atlis snippet or send users and events with the Server API.
- 2
Add the Not Activated in 48h trigger

- 3
Edit and switch it on
Adjust the wording, optionally add up to 4 follow-ups, and switch the workflow on.
Questions
When should I send an activation email?
Around 48 hours after signup works for most SaaS products: long enough to give people a chance to start on their own, soon enough that they still remember signing up. In Atlis the delay is adjustable per workflow.
What counts as activated?
You choose. In Atlis a user is activated when isActivated is set, when a first payment arrives from Stripe or Paddle, or when they fire one of the activation events you picked during setup.
